June 26th and 27th, 2005
Summit County, Colorado
For our first two days of activities we split the group, so half climbed and half biked.
The pictures are grouped with climbing followed by biking, although the activities happened over the course
of two days. Click on the pictures to the left to see more pictures from each event.
Climbing
For our first high adventure activity of the trip, the Venture Crew did a multi-pitch climmb in 10-Mile Canyon.
C’est Le Pied, a 250 foot, three pitch climb, was the route both groups were challenged with. Luckily
groups succeeded and returned to the house in good health (darn, we thought we’d lose some… just kidding!).
Biking
For the second activity, the venture crew biked downhill for 12 miles
following Vail Pass to Frisco, mostly coasting. This was more like a roller coaster with sight seeing than
a high adventure activity like rock climbing, although one of our crew members could argue that biking is high
adventure… (watch out for that cliff Lindsey). On the second day half of the bike crew decided to go 12 extra
miles from Breckenridge to Frisco, giving the rest of us time to shop for those beautiful cowboy hats you’ll see
with the horseback riding pictures.
Hike
As another activity for the second day, the Moms on the trip decided to strike out on their own and did a two-mile
hike around Lower Catarake Lake (maybe they needed to take a break from their 30 adopted kids?).
